Good video, but you didn't mention proximity to thirsty tees and shrubs that can/will infest a raised bed with roots. Some of my crops I had to switch over to fabric pots to isolate the plants from direct contact to adjacent soil.

I am from Belgium. I grow tomatoes in my greenhouse in half shade. I always remove all the leafs under the green tomatoes, when some leaves grow too wide I cut them in half.

It's none of their business what we do in our garden. Don't let them control us.

Thanks. 😊 Just one suggestion on covering tomatoes or any plants, trees or shrubs to keep the birds out - please use tulle fabric instead of bird netting which can trap some birds (like hummingbirds) and they could die. Besides, tulle fabric is cheaper than bird netting and can be found at most fabric shops and on line stores like “The Tulle Shop” (Emerald, 54 inch Bolt X 40 Yards for $4.99) and other discount shops and some specialty stores like Etsy ($0.99 per yard). The little holes in the tulle are small enough not to catch and trap most birds including little hummingbirds unlike ‘bird netting’. We want to discourage birds from steeling our fruit, not kill birds. Thanks. 🙂

This is only about control. I can throw a tomato in the backyard and the next year the seeds will sprout. Now the tomatoes you buy at the store will be on a truck 3-4 times before you even drive your gasoline engine to buy it. So this study is absolute bullshit.

But you showed up on my feed today so thought I’d start watching you again. Great ten tips for around-the-house gardening hacks! I’ve used all of them! I bought one set of white vinyl blinds at a flea market and cut each blind into pieces, V-shape the end yo stick in the ground, write on it with a black market and I have, literally hundreds of individual plant markers that have lasted me over twenty years! You can cut them any length from a few inches for small pots to 8 or 10 inches for larger ones.

A friend gave us a truckload of black walnut hulls. He tought it would be good for mulch in our garden. Not so. 😢 It took about 3 years and a lot of work to undo the damage. Black walnuts are not good for anything...ecept icecream.

Even small scale salt based gardening has such a small impact it can barely be compared to the average daily routine of this city dwelling "journalists" who(almost certainly uses Uber style delivery programs for the smallest things, I know people too lazy to go to the local 7/11 who order a SINGLE freaking bottle of water via Uber ) can't even fact check their own hit pieces/sensationalist propaganda. Modern journalism is such an unbelievable joke compared to what journalism used to be just 40 years ago. Thankfully the mass layoffs in the media industry have been proving no one cares about or reads this tabloid level garbage anymore outside of youtubers making videos on it, and normal people laughing at/mocking it in memes. Most of these columnists are being replaced by AI like chat GPT, and honestly, I really can't even tell the difference in quality sometimes, which has lead me to believe some of these companies likely already WERE using ai for the past few years, at the very least to create their writing prompts if not to do the full articles.

City code regarding plants, yard plants, and meadowmaking is absolutely the dumbest nonsense I have ever had the displeasure of working with. They want me to cut down the sprouting goldenrods I have because anything more than 8" is apparently an affront to God. I just learned that a bird must have delivered a horseradish onto my yard and they probably want me to kill that too. I will never in my life understand why I am apparently unallowed to govern what I grow in my own goddamn backyard in the so-called "land of the free."

If 50% of the people in America garden to supplement 30% of their foods, not only will the big grocery chains loose money, but the governments toxic poisoning of Americans will dramatically decrease, for they can not have a health country of citizens, it's against their plan. Look back at our grandparents and great grandparents, they lived off the land and hardly got sick, no heart attacks at 48y old like now, no cancer at 52y old like now, no diabetes at 36y like now....anyone see the trend when big farm businesses and government took control ?
